thanks AusAstronomer, Ice and Matt, for the advice re Pentax 20mm and up for 9.25 ... I had wondered how swish these were for the longer focal length so your comments help.

That's fair enough Johnathan.

I was also just letting people know that these guys are happy to be flexible on price. There are others that don't extend you the same latitude.

Didn't mean to cause offence

Ving

The problem here is that there was a post from Johnathan one minute, the next it was gone.

I'm OK communicating with 2 people at once, even if their names be so amazingly similar as joe and Johnathan...!!!!

I can tell the difference, especially as their avitars are very different

Sorry Matt, I deleted it straight after I posted it because there were a few new posts while I was typing and my post wasn't really necessary after that! I tried to repost it anyway but the forum program wouldn't let me as it said it was a duplicate post or something. Sorry for any confusion!

Anyway... the post basically said if Star Optics have a far better price, they should advertise it because they must have a pretty big mark up on these EP's and their competitor's list price is far better as Joe pointed out.

Fair enuff Jonno

See Ving ... I can tell the diff between a Joe and a Jon

Yeah, JONNO.. it's best to advertise a lower price if you are able to sell at that price. Totally agree.

You getting any viewing time, by the way?

Nope . In between clouds and bushfire smoke I never seem to be at home to use my scope when it has been clear.

Hooray!

It arrived today.

Looks very well constructed and a lot larger than I expected. About twice the size of the 13mm T6 Nagler. Quite surprising for a 10mm ep although it is a widefield with 20mm eye relief

Nice adjustable eyecup etc and very large top (eye) element.

Had a quick look at M42 and Rigel double tonight. Quite windy and early in the evening so seeing not great but impressive crisp views. Six stars in the trap and Rigel easily split in the 8" f5.

This ep shows a lot of promise.

Am leaving the scope out overnight for a look at Jupiter.

Wish me luck
