Clear in Melbourne as usual (!) but working 2 jobs and uni 7 days a week I'm too stuffed to haul all my stuff out, so just settling for a night in with a 6 pack Feel bad for missing out, but doubt I would've lasted long.

EDIT: Now clouding over.....so don't feel bad no more.... good thing I stayed in lol!

Looks like the year for rain in Aus, floods and record awesome snow season in Vic, then record Sept falls in the Pilbara and Kimberely, now QLD getting blasted.... seems like only Perf escaped the onslaught of 2010. But then again, Perff has a sunnier climate than the surface of the sun itself.

This Oct so far is brilliant here, lots of sunshine and warm, but sadly looks like turning to custard next week in tribute to the usual theme this year... some talk of more floods for Vic emerging.

Takes about 50 mm to get minor flooding in the valley below me, hate to see what 400 mm would do...... Major flooding everywhere.

Except when a major event is about to happen....the more you're looking forward to it the more cloudier it seems to get!

Can somebody perform one of those voodoo dances and send the rain over to SW Western Australia please? But only for a day or two - just so I can turn that horrible brown dead grass and sand into something more green . Actually my partner went back to SE QLD to see her family the other day and about 20% of her photos were of "green" things like grass and more grass - a rare sight over here.

We've had a shocker this winter with very little rain and we're soon to head into our dry season and it's showing now - but great for us night owls

Cheers,
Darrin...

Someone had the power connected to his observatory yesterday too.
Just wait and see how much rain we get once the observation deck is finished

could be worth a new SX, QHY or SBIG in celebration .

The stopped for around 15 minutes today.
It's relentless......
The kids think it's great, I can't see them going to school for the next two days at least.

See, there's something for everyone, living in the country. Dark skies for me and for the kids, the higher than average chance of getting days off school.

As long as no one in the Cook Islands buys a scope or builds an observatory I should be fine I actually saw stars last night for a brief 15 minutes, it was wonderful
