South east Qld star party would be great.......

Even though I enjoy just getting out on the driveway browsing the skies......its hard to compare the enjoyment with a few friends having the same interests......and most of all you can learn heaps....

The 1 monthly meeting I was invited to by a club was terrific...everyone was so relaxed and friendly to talk too...in this environment I learned heaps....was great!

Talking

What Club Tony? I am a member of the SAS, Southern Astronmical Socity,
I got a couple of other friends with scopes, we get together all the time . the more the merrier.
Most months we head out to Leyburn which is 1/2 way between Warwick and Toowoomba. The club has a dark sky site there around 80 acres which is owned by one of the members,
excellent skies and good company, and lots of blokes who are willing to teach , it doesn't get better than this .
I think we may be planning a sesion for this weekend at a friends house at Parkinson, anybody's more than welcome to tag along.
pm me for the details.
David

To be honest....I am not sure.....Brian from the Science and astronomy shop at Normon Park invited me to come along...but its not his club.....it was at the Holand park state school on the 16th January 2005......they get together at this site once a month every 3rd sunday, I think they have their main members group at Indoroopilly every 1st sunday..but can be sure...you may know the club...

Parkinson..over near sunnybank....
