Crikey, it's got more lights on than a government building.
I'd be going for their fuse box every clear night.

Maybe all that heat from those lights melted some of the land away http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/..../shrugging.gif

Or perhaps a certain someone trying to image that night, tried to blow up the house, failed and got the land instead. http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/..../shrugging.gif Wasn't me, I was home watching "99 ways to be a good person".

I can sympathise with you Dave, before we moved to a rural acreage we had neighbours like that. They would leave the lights on all night.

The only upshot was listening to their teenage daughter throwing tantrums because her parents wouldn't let her go out or give her money, they were always good for a laugh.

cheers

Complain to the Council about the lights impinging on your privacy and affecting your sleep cycle

or send them an offical looking note on Governement letter head about Carbon Tax, how to reduce the amount you pay,

1. Turn out lights when leaving a room
2. Do not have lights on in empty rooms
3. Place security sensors on all outdoor lights
4. Use lower wattage globes
etc etc

I sympathize with you, but when I setup my observatory I invited all the neighbors around with their children to have a look at Saturn, m42 omega etc and I made sure that I left on my back floodlights. When they all arrived the kids had a great time as I'd set up video viewing on one scope and eyeball observing on another. They quickly saw the difference outside lights made to observing.
Now if there are any lights on the neighbors switch them off when I let them know I'm outside or even the 7 year old next door who loves scopes etc makes her dad switch off the lights. Just takes a little education rather than an airgun.
