I was advised to get my affairs in order in 2007 before undergoing life saving surgery.
I considered myself fortunate to be given this "extra" time. A chance to sort through possessions, spend time with my children, a last ride of my horse, a last pat of the cat, a last night spent at the scope.
How many people get this opportunity?
Sure, it was a sad time, overwhelmingly sad at times. But I found joy in the smallest things and honestly, I was at peace with my situation.
The support I received from the members of IIS and CSN (cancer survivors network) was phenomenal. You guys really helped me through that difficult time. Thanks again.
