Fingers crossed I'll be up for the drive.
It will be a purely social evening for me.
Looking forward to NOT having to load the car up with gear.

Hi David, I have just come in from observing, I started at 19:00 through to 23:15, I had good to reasonable observing 50% of the time and the rest was intermittent cloud,
No good for imagers but OK for observers
Saturn was Brilliant under very high mag also did a spot of PN observing as well Blue Planetary and eight burst where really bright using my new UHC filter.
Omega and Cent A also being very good targets.
Skippy Sky says only a 10% chance of cloud and I tend to agree, I think by the end of the week we will have got rid of most of this cloud
See you on Saturday

Thanks Ron,

I've been out a couple of nights this week. Once with the scope setup to do a test on a focal reducer - the clouds have been "thinning".

I was hoping to be out for a two nighter this weekend. Unfortunately my half day on Friday just became a full day's work...

how was it last night?? - I was pretty disappointed that I couldn't be there - but school holidays - away with the kids until today.

I was up in Noosa and was keeping an eye on the clouds in the afternoon, but by nightfall they had all cleared away. Then, this morning it looked like it had rained over night?

What happened up in Cambroon?

Adam

Pretty good early on Adam. Closed out by 9:30 though. Good company for a bit of a chat about. From memory (its a worry) there were:

Ron astroron
Me ([1ponders])
Jeanette (jjjnettie)
Rob (F)
Wes (Zubenel)
Don & Tony (Gargoyle_Steve's brother and mate)
Maureen, John and Anthony & their daughter (?)
Terry and Peter (?)

Did I miss anyone? I'm sure Ron will add anyone if I forget.
So not a bad turn out.

hmm...2 hours. I would have only just got my drift alignment done...

I still haven't given my new (2nd hand) guide scope and camera a decent workout. Here's hoping next weekend at ten chain hill works out....

Hmmmmm, bit disappointing about the duration Paul. I decided not to come up to Cambroon and instead went to Hazeldeen with BAS. I thought the weather looked iffy, so I didn't want to go for a long drive. The seeing wasn't great at Hazeldeen, but the clouds stayed away until midnight.

Yeah - thanks for having us Ron, and great to see/meet everyone.
I knew weather was risky, but wouldn't have forgiven myself missing a good one. Don't think I'll get a chance to get up to Cambroon again until at least July.
