Rokketboy you are an ACE. I'm the same, I pinged a fox but didn't close the deal. I tracked it for two km only to discover it was now following me. Got the b#$%#@ in the end. If more people had you attitude we would not have this problem.
Cudos to you.

Should we include these on our list

"It is becoming clear that some domestic cats are persistent hunters while others may be more opportunistic. The majority of cats will attack small ground dwelling birds such as the beautiful blue wren. Once common, the blue wren is now rare in places where cats dominate.
Small night animals are also hunted if cats are left to roam after dark. These include feathertail gliders, sugargliders, pigmy possums, ringtail possums, baby brush tail possums, bandicoots and small bats"

There are more than 2,600,000 domestic cats in Australia and a recent survey showed that the average domestic cat brings home 16 mammals, 8 birds and 8 reptiles a year. Some more, some less. It is estimated that domestic1 cats kill 3.8 million native Australian animals each year.

That’s a lot of native wildlife falling victim to the family cat! Feral cats are also a huge problem when it comes to wildlife. It is estimated that there are 12 million feral cats across Australia, many of which were once someone’s pet until they were dumped or ran away.

and this the major reason I don't own a cat

Cats, Wild dogs, Foxes, Panthers ( Halls Gap, Goverment denies it ) Crows, Starlings, Sparrows & the worst of all the dreaded GREENIE.

If we continue to let this go on. We wont have WILDLIFE.

I'm a cat, horse and dog lover, but believe in responsible ownership.
If I had my way there would be compulsory desexing of all domestic animals unless you are a register breeder. We must stop all indiscriminate breeding.
The people too should be made to pass a test, prove that they can be responsible owners.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to make prospective parents take a similar test before being allowed to breed.
