Very nice Paul.
It's notoriously difficult object to image well, and you have.

I love the detail in the central lobe and fine tendril structure.

I am now looking forward to my next project which will I hope be nearly as much time but certainly far better to image.

Man as much as I hate to say it...we need some serious apperture mate ...this need for mega multi night exposure to get a good rich smooth image is bluddy crappola

12" F3.8 = perfect (still affordable - well kind-a ) imaging scope... and preferably an APO too ie no diffraction spikes

I would settle for f6, that would give me some focal length to work with too. Every thing is a compromise.
