You should have no trouble with that. Nvidia have good support for openGl and linux, where the developers build.

Yes my installation starts instantly after the first run and is almost twice as fast as my previous builds.

We have a new method of compiling the project now using Qt creator. It took me a couple of hours to get it to work. I hade a : where there should have been a ;. Took me hours to find it. But it is a great system and builds a faster version.

For fun I went up to Coles and bought one of those eM250 computers.
I brought it home turned it on and installed Stellarium-0.10.3. Went perfectly straight away. It has the Intel 945 chipset. I have tried all the things that have been mentioned as problems but none show up on my installation. When I get the rest of my favourites on it and remove the junk I should have a nice little lap top.

Sounds like there is still trouble with radeon video. I though we had got around that. None of the developers run radeon video so problems don't show up. I have six different platforms here but I only have SiS, Nvidia and intel displays and there are no problems noticed on these (yet).

Place a bug report in the reporting area with all the details.
Barry,

Get yourself something with ATI and feel our pain. Have it running Linux and you can double that. ATI's Linux support is either incompatible or atrocious, depending on which distro you run.

I was chatting to the guys at DCA at Castle Hill. Because of the gaming user requirements, ATI are outrunning NVidia at a great rate. If ATI's OpenGL support doesn't improve there are going to be a lot of unhappy users.

I'm trying to compile qt461 to see if Stellarium 0.10.3 will even think of running.

I guess the Radeon card will have to go to make room an NVidia. Good thing I don't have two running in crossfire.

FYI, VMA v5 (also using OpenGL) on my Linux box is glacially slow.

Edit: Both qt 4.6.1 and stellarium 0.10.3 compiled cleanly. stellarium consistently segfaults within seconds.
