An insulation company had ours all ready to install, then came the excuses:

The machine has broken down ...
We can't get the grade you want ...
We can supply this stuff (not what we wanted) ...
Oh you don't have to worry about covering downlights, just go over them ...

See you later - job cancelled.

If we can't get the insulation we want I'll pay for it myself and have it done by a local, reputable firm, not by some unknown out-of town outfit. These insulation installers are coming out of the woodwork. Lured by government subsidies and relying on the word "free" to bring in the customers. No thanks.

They are not 'free.' They are paid for by tax payers. I had my house insulated at no cost to me and it is rented out while I live overseas. It was all done from overseas using a reputable company.
