1-To sean, it's great to see us younger people being so interested in astronomy, Razor electric Scooter man I wish i had one of those and I am sure that you will love your Ipod Touch (I don't own one myself) but i have seen a lot of people with them, and the smiles on their faces are HUGE Yoou own a 12" Dob??!?!??! WOW that's amazing!!and also, the physical attack, what are kids turning into these days?hahahahhah, that would of been something to see

2-To Warren, it's great to see some people still believing in Santa

3-To Marc, WOW, now THAT would have been a sight to die for, haha, a helicopter, man that's impressive, I also can just picture in my mind heaps of kindergarten kids, just rushing up, trying to touch him, I bet it was one of those memories that you just never forget

Try to convince your parents that you cant use the dob on christmas early because the sun doesnt rise till 12 o'clock then you might be able to use it earlier.

Here's hoping for you!

Hi Sebastien,

Here's hoping for you especially, that there are several clear nights over the next couple of weeks.

There is heaps of advice here on the site about all manner of things -- what free astronomy software to download and how to do this or that or find the other.

Ask questions by all means but you'll probably find most of the questions that you will have, have already been asked and answered by others in the past. Use the search function to find those answers. Have you got a planisphere?

Also think about joining an astronomical society as well. There are quite a few in Sydney and I'm sure one is not too far away. Several have junior groups where you can also find people your own age with the same interest.

I really hope you get a few clear nights mate. Let us know in the observing section how your first night went.

Best,

Les D

Thankyou very much Les, greatly appreciated and I think that tonight is going to be a GREAT night to go out with my telescope because so far in the day there are absolutely no clouds in sight, and the weather is warm, so there is barely any chance that clouds will form

I don't have a planisphere but I get the star charts/planisphere off other websites eg.http://skymaps.com/downloads.html

I have thought about joining a astronomy club/society, and I have heard from the guy which we picked up my telescope yesterday that there is a very good one in Epping so I will definitely check that one out for sure

And I sure will let you guys know how my first night went Thanks a lot again, greatly appreciated

Kind regards,
Sebastien

I wish I could tell you but I don't remember, as years go by I remember less and less, the reason for this is that I suffered brain damage when I was 1.5 years old, my school days was a HORROR, later on it improved but it is decaling at the moment
But I must have had a very good Christmas but I cant remember
