Thanks again everyone

I went with the Asus notebook (that's "note" not "net") from Office works, I got the one on display (last one) and they upgraded it to 4meg of Ram for me for no extra charge

Hopefully it will prove ok

4meg I'd expect them to pay you to take it away.

Ooops I meant 4K (I remember the Tandy TRS80 with 1K RAM)

Actually I just booted it up and it still only has 2GiG so I will be making a call tomorrow, the guy on the phone said he would add the RAM and he obviously didn't

Never had anything with only 1K, except maybe the HP-67. 1st PC was an Apple IIe with two banks of 16K. And a duo-drive.
Then a Mac IIcx - about $AU8000 in 1990 - which I still have.

Is it Windoze reporting 2GB or the BIOS at boot time?
