You'll be able to do some quite nice wide field images with the Canon.
Setting it up on a tripod and taking multiple 15sec exposures.
It's what kept me going after my big op. Don't know how I would have made it if it wasn't for that little camera and IIS.

Pollen from flowers, spiders, even close ups of fabric look awesome.

Ving, our resident macro king, puts flies and insects in the fridge to slow them down, then takes the most amazing photos of them before they wake up and fly away.

Hey I got a joke for you Vars

A chicken crossed the road and met James Bond.

"What's your name?" asked the chicken.

"Bond, James Bond. What's yours?"

There's no link to click.

Yes, if you cool them down, they'll curl up in a little ball, then you'll have a 5 minute lee way to snap as many macro's as you can.
I don't recommend bee's or other bities cause they'll get pretty angry when they wake up.

Speaking of fun with insects, if anyone has a microscope, squash an ant, and have a look. One of the most beautiful sights you will ever see.

This was suggested to me in grade 5, by a beautiful Greek girl, whom I was madly in love with!

Hey I love those pics Vars. Did you take those?

You know that one of the Bee. It seems to have the orangie clump around its leg. Is that the pollen sack or something. When I was a kid this Nun told us that bees have a little bucket on their leg to collect the honey and I spent all holidays trying to see a bee carrying a bucket. I didnt find one then. But have I now?

You're going to love your little Canon when you get it.
I have a Canon 20d now, but no way would I get rid of my S3IS. It's way too versatile. I've even used the video function to image Jupiter and Saturn. Taking the .avi's and processing them in Registax.

Any time you need help, just post a thread saying "Cheer me up" or something. If we're online, we'll be there for you.
