No problems here, yesterday the site was really slow, but not as slow as some of the US sites. Today it is ok. The site is never fast, but at least it is faster than CN. That is slow there. Even with a 1.5 gig connection.
BTW, H0ughy you post way to much, do you ever work?????

I am having one of those you don't pay me enough to do that weeks. Between postings i am costing infrastructure projects due tomorrow for budget considerations. I even have to do risk assessments and project briefs.
I will be a good boy next week

We haven't moved to the new server yet, but it's expected to happen in the next few weeks. Well, it'll be delayed a week or two now because i'm going on holidays.
But after I get back from holidays I'll be arranging it for sure.

In answer to Seeker's original question, I could not get access from work either. I could connect from home that night, so I assumed that big brother must have deemed my IIS time to be excessive and locked me out. Maybe that's the case for both of us. The trouble is, each thread takes about a minute to open up on my 56K modem at home so I can't skim quickly through the content. The pages got much slower when the new content appeared on the left of each page.

hmm that's odd, because I got a PM from netwolf the day before to say that he can't access it from work now either (where before, he could).
afaik, nothing has changed on this end to mean you can't access it from work anymore - I figured it would be a change at the work firewall or proxy to stop access to the servers IP address or the iceinspace domain name.
But to happen to 3 people (seeker, BC and netwolf) seems very odd. I'll check with the host provider to see if anything has changed.

I'm on leave today so I can access the forum..funny thing is that I could access CN and UT and my yahoo mail but not IIS from my work
The blue worm on the info status bar does creep slowly to the right indicating page is loading but the page never actually loads and finally timed out..if its more than one person then it certainly may be worth investigating
no problems from home..though I use Firefox at home doubt if choice of browser has anything to do with it

Hi guys,
As far as I can tell, it's most likely an artefact of the Cogent - Level7 argument from a few weeks ago, or a similar routing issue.
Can you provide some traceroutes?
Dave.

Like Mike said i am have been unable to get in since Tuesday. But I recall i was able to access Tuesday morning and I made a post to the fourms. Then at lunch time no access. It has been like that since. On Wednesday night suspecting something was off. I did a test from home and then VPN'd to work and found the same problem. I use firefox but it happens in IE6 also. Strange why my work would block Iceinspace and not say CN.
I also checked from my like minded astronomy loving collegues workstaions and it did not work from there either. They use IE6.. So its not just my PC.
Regards
Netwolf
PS: if your desprate try Anonymouse.org....

I expect its a routing issue between two Australian network points.
If someone knows of another website hosted on the same hosting company as Iceinspace i can do a test right now via VPN.
Regards
