Thanks Marc, Rob and Doug..

Rob - Yes I was well past my best.. I had to close one eye to be able to read the count down timer in MaximDL during the M45 exposures.. I was so messy I couldn't read with both eyes open!! hahaha

Doug - Next time, No bottle of rum! And hopefully no messy fog/dew either. I'm making some dew heaters right now, Hopefully they will be up and running before next month!! ASTROFEST!!!

Cheers.
Alex.

Martin - PM sent...

Trevor - Yeah mate, it sure is very different to what im used to.. however its proving to be quite enjoyable thus far! This HEQ5 that I'm using had recently been serviced, and from what I understand, cleaned, tuned and regreased.. Overall I've had more success with this mount than I had with my EQ6.. that being said, I'm working at a MUCH lower focal length, and using very different cameras etc...

I never got my guiding spot on with the EQ6, Largely because my computer didnt like the GPUSB/DBK31/QHY8 all running at once.. I dont know what the problem was exactly, but there was a conflict somewhere.. Now with the QHY5 and the Orion SS Pro I have absolutely no hardware or software problems.. simply focus the guider, take an exposure, pick one of the MANY guide stars on the screen, click guide and start imaging.. Its never been so simple!
