Wow! real aussie royalty! cool bit of history - I read on the internet the stories of the 1st/2nd/3rd fleets - very gruesome reading - especially the second and third *gulp* they were extremely tough people that survived that i would imagine

Geoff - 1880's was like the gold and other mineral rushes I think - seems to me thats when the majority emigrated to aus pre -1900

As Thomas Gearing died on the voyage out.
They were out and out criminals really and probably deserved what they got.
But none the less I'm still proud to be able to call myself a First Fleet Descendant.

Please don't mention the Ashes! I can't express any true feelings on the topic here.

I hate the fact that this site blanks out traditional aussie words that help express my extreme regret that we lost the Ashes.

Yeh, you won them (with a bit of help from your weather) but I do admit that it is good for the game and it will be really exciting to actually get to go to an ashes game myself now!
