Yeah, I recently watched Forbidden Planet again - it really was ahead of it's time! And Contact - great movie. How could it be anything else written by Carl and with Jodie Foster in it (!!) ... hurley burley, what a girlie!! Wait a second, I think you have to be 50 something to think of her like that ........ dang!!! ...

And ANOTHER thread - who's your favourite Sci Fi Actor (movie or series)!

Marcus

Hahahaha. Dark Star, what a pearler!

It's not really 'space', but:
Sleeper (Woody Allen)

Even closer to home, I loved the Rob Brydon Series 'Supernova', about an observatory in outback Australia. Two series were made in 2005/06, only twelve episodes all up. Kat Stewart, what a spunk! Been searching for it on DVD with no luck so far....

Cheers,
Jason.

Lightbulb Watch Out for the Id !!

One interesting one I did forget about that should
be really included, is the truly great film ;

Forbidden Planet
(1956)
I cannot now look at the white 1st magnitude star Altair / Alpha Aquila without associating with this movie. Of course, being the leggy actress Anne Francis (legs right up to her neck) playing Altaira 'Alta' Morbius was particularly distracting in the 1950's. Walter Pigeon as her father was brilliant!

Anyone who thinks 3 movies/series is not enough, by all means, list as many of your faves that you care to.

So I might as well as add:

Apollo 13
blade runner
solaris
the dish

Series:

star trek the original

And don't forget the classic cartoons:

ulysses 31
starblazer
