I've been outside tonight (a beautiful dark clear night) listening to a compilation album. "Feeling the Blues." Volume 2.
Song 2 was Howling Wolf singing "Killing Floor", Led Zepplin did a cover of this song, now I've got to dig that album out.

My favourite albums would be anything by KISS and the Beatles. I may be a spring chicken (25) next to all you old people, but I have great taste in music.

One I've just listened to (again) Green Day's brilliant CD "American Idiot" (2004)
( Even got the vid of the title song.** )

** The other, which I always play after the original track, is of course the parody by Weird Al Yankovic's "Canadian Idiot." The Weird Al version is good, but his lyrics placed over the Green Day vid is absolutely classic.

Love my blues and he has a real oldtime Creole feel to him.
He's playing at the Tivoli in Brisbane this Sunday night.
Hubby's going down to see him.

Really enjoy CW Stoneking. There are a heap of great aussie songwriters around at the moment. Check out Jeff Lang if you haven't already JJJ. Amazing guitarist and storyteller.

Hi JJJ I have a feeling that CW is from the USA,stand corrected though.saw him perform at the Vangard in Sydney a few years back.Try picking up on a 1930`s blues man ;Charlie Patten by name, will take awhile to understand what he is saying though

CW, definitely Australian.
I'm pretty sure he grew up on a mission in the bush. Which explains why he speaks with an accent.

Ah yes. Always Pink Floyd. Meddle is in the cd player in the car. "One of These Days" is great for the open road.

Hey jjj,

I copy my cd's and customise song titles from several albums onto one cd. That way I had all the favourites on a few cd's.

It kind of kicked off a sub-career as a D J. I attended a 21st party and no one would dance to the music that the host had. She appealed to me for help. I had some customised cassettes in the car that I liked to listen to.

When these went on the player the dance floor was crowded.
Consequently I was asked to supply music at ensuing parties. I recieved enumeration ofcourse.

Eventually I was asked to D J at larger venues, sports clubs etc. I stopped it there. It was taking other D J's jobs and I was already fully employed.

But tailoring your own cd's is the way to go jjj. Just your own preferences on the one cd.

Cheers Marty
