^^ you've developed an immunity to hangovers coz you drink so many alcopops and your body's like "oh my superior is feeding me candy again"
No no, wine is not Yuck, provided its drunk with KFC. One day last year wehn I had the house to myself, I went out and bought KFC and 2 bottles of wine, ate the KFC while drinking the wine while watching Fawlty Towers, it was the best day of my life. Then I felt like crud afterwards

No wonder no one turned their light off. Sorry all. I've got that much on at the moment that I lose track of what day it is. At least I haven't told my son to get out of bed to get ready for school... on a Saturday (whoops!!!)...yet.

Once I did that to my brother on a public holiday - on purpose, and he actually got dressed in his uniform and all. Then I told him it's a public holiday. Can't remember what his reaction was as it was ages ago.

Oh well, not looking good so far
Neighbours have their landing lights on, other houses I can see have their lights on.
Will check in a few more minutes but a bit disappointing

Sky looks the same as usual here (Waverton)
The CBD is all lit up as usual, streetlights are all full on, I can see the SCG has its lights on from the glow there... I think "Earth Hour" has by and large got the attention it deserved - nil.
IMHO it isn't a matter of making a concession for 1 paltry hour on one night of the year.
ALL lights should be turned out after midnight, EVERY night IMHO.

The sky has been mostly clear for the last few hours in Brisbane, but right on 8:30 pm a huge bank of cloud has rolled in giving complete cloud cover, and by 8:45 it's raining!
Still, just before the cloud rolled in I did get a nice (albeit brief) view of Saturn with Rhea and Dione flanking the rings and Titan near the limb of Saturn, so it's not all bad.
Cheers,
Stephen

Just So 2008 !!
Funny isn't it, human nature I mean.
So why did we turn off the lights in the first place?
I actually forgot about it, and so it seems, did everyone else.
Earth Hour. It's one year later, and it is already passé.

It was a bit hit and miss for Earth hour down here. I noticed less light but it could have been better. Timing it with no moon was a great idea, or coincidence.
We had fabulous dark skies [for the Mornington Peninsula] with a great view of Saturn and Orions Nebula. I had half an hour of peace, then I spent the next hour trying to get my 2yr old son to stay in bed.

From my place I can see Canberra's sky glow to the west. there didn't seem to be any difference this year.
There really didn't seem to be much advertising of Earth hour on telly maybe that was the problem this year.

Lights out
Why do we need to keep literally millions of lights on all night in city office blocks and other places where they aren't really necessary?
Instead of turning them off once a year, wouldn't it make more sense (and a huge difference) if we turned them off every night? I turn my lights off each night when I go to bed, so what's the difference?
I know there are cleaners working in some offices at night but only for a couple of hours, not all night long and not on every floor at once.

Excellent skies last night in spite of next-doors back-yard flood light and the lights on in the house behind my back-yard too. Spent some 3 hours with the scope chasing a few Messiers, M41,44, 67. Also NGC 2360, 2362, 2383, 2384, 3114. IC2602.
Also w-Centauri and n-Carina were fab. Great night.
Super view of Saturn too. I even held my little digital camera to the eyepiece and got a blurry blob!
