Greg, have you considered that the image might be a little on the red side? I noted that all the stars appear to be white. I think that there is a red giant in this field. Probably wrong, but just thought I would ask.
Anything's possible when it comes to colour Paul! I used Rob Gendler's as a guide and he shows a reddish background also which is a low level gas background that comes up in the Ha. I figured it was just showing that.

Excellent work.

When I showed your image to my family, they pointed out to me something within the picture.
In this crop, can you see the profile of a Koala facing to the right?

Thanks Jeanette. Yeah it does look like a Koala. We should take it over and rename it.

Jeanette, I see the Koala face too, very obvious, in fact it should be called the Koala Nebula!

The crop is about 60% of the original image as I recall.

Wow Greg!

I previously had no idea where the Thors Helmut was, but as Bruce McAvaney would say ... "that's special"

Thanks Frank. It did take a bit of effort but the basic data was good.

Nice job Greg ... I've only ever seen images of Thor's Helmet that were very small in frame ... nice to see the detail in your shot !

It needs some OIII Greg. This target has an abundance of it. Not sure if your colour balance was up to speed on this one or perhaps you had some problems with gradients. Still a fine image. Well done.

Thanks Jase. I may add some O111 next trip before its gone for the year.

No problems with gradients. Perhaps a bit of general Ha spreads through the background of the image giving a slight red cast perhaps but ob Gendlers version his shows that as well. I can check it if I add some O111.

Greg.
