Thanks Jen
My advice for anyone thinking about a tatt is to
1. Make sure you really want it and it's not a spur of the moment thing, they don't wash off in the shower.

A good idea is to forget about them for a few months and then if you still want one then your usually ready.
2. Check out you local tattoo shop and make sure they are clean and have single use needles etc
3. Check out the tattoist's work, some are artists but others can't even draw stick figures. Even be prepared to travel.
4. Think outside the square with a tatt, the pictures on the shop wall are standards which means everyone else probably has the same. Search the web for pictures it's a great resource. All of my tatts are original ideas in conjunction with my tattoist.
5. Take care of it, avoid salt or chlorinated water for a few months. Use vitamin E cream and dont cover it, avoid sunburn and the big one is as it heals it will flake, dont pick them off as you will be pulling out the colour as well and it will end up blotchy. A tattoo can take up to 8 months to fully settle in.
