The settings use were those that PS and Noise Ninja chose as their default settings. They should know or would you like 50 pics of each with different settings that I wouldn't have a clue about what they are affecting?

You've seen my point. Settings are adjustable - for both. The results can be quite close if set correctly. Defaults are there as a starting point only.
