Lest we forget.

And a special thought as well to the men and women currently serving overseas. Come home safe and sound.

Great photo's Mike and the memorials looks good, but instead of marble, granite etc and well keep lawns of memorials around the world, what they should have is photo's of the bodies with heads, arms legs missing of not only soldier's, but also civilians, animals, and homes destroyed.Gory yes indeed, after all we use similar photo's on TV to try and stop the road carnage and stop smoking adds, why not do the same for wars.I wonder how attitudes would change towards going to war. When will those in power start putting faces to name's and not just gold letter's on black marble, which look very nice with remark's like "That's lovely, doesn't it look marvellous" with only photo's there I wonder what the remarks would be.

A sensible point of view Arthur. Another way to stop the lunacy might be for those, who seem so eager to start them, to lead the charge. Can you imagine that. Wars would stop virtually overnight.

Thanks to Acropolite for posting "In Flanders Fields" - that poem is so very moving.

Lest we forget.

I spent my entire working life in defence of Australia, both in uniform and out. Rememberance Day is pretty special for me, and I hope that it is for you also.

Be sure that the spirit of ANZAC is alive and well in all who serve Australia, as is the love of country and steadfast patriotism; and all respect and honour the sacrifice of those who went before.

Remember the fallen; acknowledge the current servicemen; live free in the country they have protected for us.

Have a special look at the stars tonight.
