Hmmm, just looked at both sites and found that the Bintel is 1 year warranty while the GSO is 3 years warranty.

If they are essentially the same is the GSO worth $200 more than the Bintel? Is the heavy duty mount of the GSO worth $200 more? Are they made in the same factory in Taiwan?

I'm actually thinking of the 8" model but this thread is considering the 12" so I used that model as the point of discussion.

it depends on what they come with Ray.

I believe Andrews super-deluxe models come with a few things the bintel one doesnt (namely, more eyepieces and a different finder scope.) Also I dont know if bintel are stocking the newer adjustable tension models yet... This allows you to change the tension of the altitude motion of the dob, to better balance the system when using heavier eyepeices..
