Yes, in local currency terms it has my wage has gone down ...However, many could successfully argue that I don't do much anyway so the pay is probably "fair"...

I pay in USD for my imports from China (LED torches), and will be paying for a new shipment tomorrow, so this exchange rate is VG for me. Since I started importing, my costs have dropped by over 20%. Fortunately I can pass that on to the consumer in lower costs. For the last couple of months I have been selling on par with the USA MSRP, which was not possible previously. A decent percentage of my sales (40%+) is still to the EU, due to their even stronger Euro. It isn't all bad for exports.

wow what changing fortunes!! a month and a half ago the aussie dollar was about .96 cents, now its about .79 - that is a huge difference. To all those that gambled and bought up big two months ago - it has more than paid off. I personally have saved nearly 450 dollars if i bought the same items today.

I just bought a Canon EF 24-105 L ($1399 from Hardly Normal; the best grey import I could get was only $80 cheaper including freight) , I was hoping the 5D replacement would be released while the dollar was up.

Hey great buy Phil, I'm sure you'll really be happy with that lens.

Yes it's a real shame the $AU isn't up there anymore.
Canon is set to release the replacement to the 5D very soon, word around the traps is that it may be called the 7D.

Anyway Canon is putting out teasers all over the place like this one:

http://www.canon.com/moon/en/index.html

So it won't be too long now, but I hate to think of the price of the new FF model now with the $ so low.

Sorry Kev - I've been too busy trying to decide what to spend my money on, and now the dollar is losing value again!
