It's just not quite there in both shots I noticed.
I generally wait till my optics are well cooled to the ambient, then spend about 15 minutes getting focus right. Even with auto focus.
I always do short tests shots to ensure the smaller stars are nice little pin pricks.
When I was manually focusing, some times it would take me a while, but the end result was well worth the effort.
These test shots also help to see how the object is framed to get the best out what your imaging with surrounding features.
Other than that, your leaping and bounding ahead.

I just bought a Shoestring FCUSB plus adapter cable, literally 10 minutes ago to control my skywatcher electric focuser. Only thing is that the focuser is on my 10 inch Newt and I took these images with my 8 inch just for a change, so I focused by hand. Never mind I can always get another elec focuser.
Glad you like the images and thanks for the encouragement. It all takes time ay but I feel like I'm getting there bit by bit !
