I've been with TPG for about 10yrs.
I've never needed to contact their help line for any service issue.
I have relocated a number of times & so had to do the relevent things then. But in general use I have never had a problem.

TELSTRA. Rip-off buch of *****
When I moved to my current house I called telstra & wanted to connect the cheapest land line ($19 / mth).
They asked if I wanted Bigpond & as soon as I said NO, they told me that the "cheap" connection was not good enough for ADSL & I need to get the $36/mth connection.

I refused & demanded the cheap landline.
I have been here since Oct 2007 with 1 cheap landline.
On that land line I have;
1) My telstra ph number
2) A VOIP local number
3) A VOIP interstate number
4) A VOIP fax number
5) ADSL

All running without a hitch.

ADSL (other than Bigpond) not working on a cheap land line connection?? Just another Telstra scam to suck more money out of people.
.......................
Only reason I have the Telstra land line (& not another company) is because the 2 mobiles are Telstra.
I keep these on Telstra (begrudgingly) because I travel internationally quite regularly & Telstra have the best international roaming coverage.

Telstra were investigated years ago for similar tactics I believe..... Yes your line is ready for ADSL, what? You don't want telstra's ADSL... sorry - line is actually no good.....

I remember years ago (around 2000) that the ADSL plan I had with iiNet costed about $55pm for 20G I think - the same speed on telstra, with the same download quota (would have been paying extra for it on top of plan) would have cost near $1000pm.... sheisters.

They used to call me with their great deals all the time - I would cut them off, tell them the exact specs of my ADSL service, speed, downloads, costs etc - they would say "Sorry for bothering you Sir..."

Off-topic, but I'm with Optus and have never had an issue with roaming.
On three separate month-long trips through dozens of countries, I get a long list of available networks and never got refused access to whichever I chose.
Optus will even email you(if you ask) with a list of networks in any country listing the various networks prices for calls and texts.
