LOLOLOL@Chris
The little Puggies have such a sense of humour, they'd be enjoying the laughs too.

I would guess he's been eating cockroaches and mice (and rats and canetoads).

Was you nice and put him back outside with the brisslely end of your broom rather than killing him with it.

If he is a she and she lays eggs inside you'll have a tiny spider plague in a few months .... been then done that .

Erick - they're not spiders, as such. They're still bugs though!

I couldn't kill him. No way. And if I put him outside he'll be eaten by one of our Maggies or Butcher Birds. He's quite welcome to stay inside and help me with the housework.
We have no Daddy Long Legs left in the loo now and his bristly legs have swept up all the webs.
I might move him to the lounge room later on today and he can start cleaning up there.
When he gets a bit bigger, I'll start him off on kitchen chores, doing the dishes, cooking simple meals etc.

Assuming it's a girl, I think I'll call her Rosie.
Naming her after that other infamous house keeper, Rose Hancock.

Better watch out Jeanette, it might run off with your husband and the family fortune.

Cheers

It may not be as much of a heavy weight as Rosie, but it covers a fair bit of area with those long legs.
Did it get evicted after taking the photo?

She's a beaut, no doubt.

Spider Loo?

Don't give my wife any ideas...she thinks I spend too much time there, she might get ideas about shortening my loo-time. It would work, too...

And talk about scaring the ?&%@#! out of your house guests. Good think it's in the right room for that...

ANYWHERE she wants!

Great pics Jeanette, she/he sure is a handsome bugger.

Having said that, after once going to sleep watching a fairly large huntsman wandering around my bedroom ceiling, and waking up sometime later after hearing it "plop" and land on my bed (yes, I really did hear it land, and yes it was a big bugger too) if I find them in the bedroom or loo I move them on to a location where they are less likely to try and ambush me.

(which probably explains why I still have so many cobwebs in my loo, unlike you Jeanette, no huntsmans to clear them away here.)

We had one in Springvale that used to move around the house. Kids thought it was a great game, "hunt the spider" every morning.

Heres my contribution to the big spider thread

The spray can shown is merely an indicator of size and in no way indicates the fate of the featured spider.
