Just thinking about the prospect of going forward in time in slices of a few hundred years at a time. If you did, it would be an unavoidable consequence that you would hear/see some of the outcomes of what we are doing today and try to change it on your return. If you could change even one persons mind about a particular path to choose, then the future you saw would be different in some fundamental or subtle way. You are locked into the timeline you started from, any change you made on your return would probably negate that future. Or, maybe your interference caused that future to be the timeline that goes forward. Gets complicated, dunnit
