I drink whisky, keeps you warm, happy and tastes better than coffee

Mill, you beat me to it.
Was going to ask why the good stuff was not included
Apart from that a cup of black coffee with a shot of black navy rum is great on cold nights.

Stronger vs weaker beverages

Hi,

Looks to me like a lot of us have found ascohol and altronomy don't mix well.

This has been my experience on a few occasions now, after leaving things outside and almost dropping an EP etc.

I now try to keep them apart, as much as my weak nature allows anyhow.

Cheers

Whisky is the only alcoholic drink that doesn't make me drunk or give a headache as long as it is the good stuff

Coke!!!

During a good nights observing 3-5 cans maybe along the way, with one or 2 stops inside for a Milo, a few bickies, and a chat. I only ever have Milo made with cold milk, can't stand it hot or even warm.

Coffee and a couple of bits of chocolate - I heard the combo's supposed to open up the pupils...don't know if that's gospel, but it's a nice way to start a session!

Port and Led Zepp

Especially on chilly nights I find a port or two and a good dose of Led Zepplin keeps me focussed (so as to speak).

It also ensures I sleep well when I eventually crawl into bed.

Interestingly, no-one drinks bottled spring water, Bonox or plain milk. The former I can understand, but no Bonox people?????

Farmers Union classic chocolate drink if not near a kettle at the time, used to make thermo's, too lazy now, the new stronger farmers union iced coffee is good for staying awake, and good old coke cola - and spring water lots of it, same as you - starting too like the red bulls and the other one?

eeeeww, that sounds like a real mix in that gut of yours

I was a bit of a beer drinking observer, but it interfares with the night vision
and the ability to observe things at the limit of your eye sight. I actually
avoid alcohol on observing days now. The other thing was once the beer had
started to take efect and you get the old wobble going, I would on
a couple of occassions get a black eye off my U/O HD's

a nice smoke works best for me
