Looking good from here!

Boys and I watched until bedtime for them...everyone nicely tucked into bed...

WOW, what a lot of IIS traffic...

I better get back to viewing!

It did look a lot like that, Rob.

The clouds parted long enough here to get a good view very close to totality.

Well, I've been offline since 3pm yesterday - so sorry I wasn't part of the 1400!

Made the decision at that time to drive north until I was sure of clear skies.

Ended up on the side of a country road outside Murchison - some 150 k north.

Had a GREAT night's observing and pushing the shutter on the camera. Don't know about the images yet - film is at the processing lab now.

It was great being under dark skies during totality. I also had a flat location with low tree cover so had the whole sky to look at. Binoculars only, but seeing those faint stars beside the moon being occulted through the totality period - t'was magic.

Packed up and drove back around midnight - stopping for some overdue dinner. A bit of a sleep in, then get everying packed away then get film in then check IIS and see you guys had bigtime meltdown! Congratulations!

Just surfing through the great images and stories - lots of reading to catch up with!

Hope I'll have something interesting to post.

Now that, was fun - so TOTAL!

Eric
