These shots were taken from Duckadang at the Qld Astrofest. We had to wait for them to clear the trees at about 5 degrees and then it was clear sailing. I can get them easily from my back yard but only for about and hour between trees. From memory I think they get about 30+ degrees above the Northern horizon.

I've found that even though M31 is quite bright in the center, I need a lot of exposure to get it looking good in the outer lanes.
