Its the same all over. We had taps in our treatment plants in WA, all scheme water, for hosing down etc, protected by backcheck valves in case of reverse flow. But, because they were in a sewage treatment plant we had to have signs warning that the water was not for drinking

The reverse flow devices were fitted by us and we were trained in the maintenance and carried the testing gauges, but because we didn't have a plumbers licence, we couldn't maintain them. We had a contract plumber that checked them every 6 months or so. Talk about keeping a dog and barking yourself, I dunno
