That latest image is the best image I've seen outside the Barbados, from any year!

Congrats Anthony, absolutely spectacular!

Hi Anthony

Wow – what an image to wake up to on Monday morning! Pure magic! The time, energy and enthusiasm you have invested in high-res planetary imaging, along with the equipment mods and upgrades you have pioneered, have really paid off, culminating in this amazing Jovian portrait.

Australian amateur astronomy is proud of you.

Cheers

Dennis

Anthony I would be up for this as well.

Easter next year would be ideal allowing a few days of imaging fun.

No sheer rock faces around here though :-( But we do have a large tree that would pose a challenge :-)

The latest colour image is spectacular, Anthony. Very reminiscant of Damian's work although not quite at Barbados quality. Not far off though. You took this from your backyard also! You must be very excited, and happy to know that your new house can deliver that type of seeing!

Congratulations on a spectacular image.

Thanks for the comments, I'm away on business now for a few days - I'll be back on Saturday and then continue processing this data.

I'm having an "interesting" time with registax, data which looks like it should be better is coming out worse, and vice versa. I really would like to know what it's doing... :-)

cheers, Bird

Very happy, as you can imagine :-)

The cooling allows me to keep imaging for another month or so until conditions get too difficult. This means about 4 or 5 months of good quality imaging in each season is possible - depending on weather of course.

Every time a large High pressure system has come across the seeing turns good for a few days and these sort of images become possible.

In another month or so the observatory will be built, and then I can start to get serious :-) no more laptop and temporary cables...

Funny you should mention that Anthony, I have noticed a similar effect of late with Registax. Glad someone else is seeing this too.
