Well, she has just broken up with her latest boyfriend so she will have some new material for her concert.

It’s not just the frenzy for the tickets, but for those from interstate, imagine the situation with flights and hotels

Everyone’s taste is their own choice. I like some of her music, and believe she is a great entertainer. But I’m not that fanatic enough to blow the budget of a decent refractor on 2 hours of tunes surrounded by 100k of my closest friends.

Oh and she snubbed Brisbane when it was good enough the last time

Maybe I’m just getting old

OK....I'll join in ...I couldn't care less about Taylor Swift ...I'll say it this way.... on my ' I couldn't give a ' Toss Meter ' she doesn't even move the needle.. maybe 1 out of 10.

I rather put on Led Zepplin / AC-DC or Van Halen.

But , then I'm from an era of ' true ' music and Musicians .... not over rated stuff that exists today.

I'll probably cop some ' flak ' over this ....but who cares.

“You need to calm down
You're being too loud
And I'm just like oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh (oh)
You need to just stop
Like, can you just not step on my gown?
You need to calm down”

The real question in terms of commitment to being a Swiftie…would you trade concert tickets for an AstroPhysics Telescope? Which of the two are harder to obtain?

It's not just teen girls. My daughter is 35 and has been a fan since Swift was a 14 year old wunderkid.

To some it’s the coronation of a king, to others the concert of a mega pop star. Each to their own. The masses demand their spectacles, and they will get them.

I saw a new article today which claimed she is making $19m a night on her present tour. Imagine the large number of people required to tear down, move, set up, etc which require hotel accommodation, travel, wages, etc the mind boggles.

Yea Glen, that is about right before tax and costs, she pockets about 5-7 million a show.

When she did 52 concerts in Nth America she grossed 700 million and that is not counting the 50 other world tours.

It takes up to 100 Semi's, 4 cranes and about 150 crew to move it and set it all up and pull it down and each piece is loaded according to where it has to go, can you imagine it a bit went missing.
If she fly's overseas like to Australia it is not unusual to hire two Antonov Cargo Planes to move it all.

The logistics of it all must be enormous responsibility.

Some pop act; and because participation in the hysteria is not compulsory and you can enjoy actual stars instead.

Exactly .... .... and when it's all done and gone, someone else will take her place and she'll go to the bottom of the ladder on the so called ' pop charts '

I wonder what the carbon foot print is of her enterprise and the participation of her fans in getting to see her.

Anyways good luck to her.... She and her group have found a way to profit from whatever it is that has humans seeking entertainment in such an excessive manner...but can I say that? I feel it is so judgemental given I have gone to see Fleetwood Mac and later Pink... both times to please someone else ... But I did enjoy each event.

But then, I guess Astronomy has a carbon footprint too. The manufacture of the scopes to very narrow tolerances, as well as people driving themselves out to dark sky sites all the time. It's not entirely a 'green' hobby. But yes people will have their spectacles, whether it's Taylor Swift or Tucanae 47.
