Dunlop discovered the galaxy NGC 5643 at 23:06
He missed the nearby PN IC4406. DeLise Stewart found it in 1899 from Peru.

At 23:38 he discovered the small, concentrated Gb NGC 5824
John Herschel saw this from England in 1831 but missed it when he was at the Cape.
E E Barnard wrongly thought he was the first to see it in 1882.

Dunlop re-observed the Gb NGC 5927 at 0:04
He discovered the Gb NGC 5986 at 0:23.

He then observed the OC NGC 6067 again and Lacaille’s OC NGC 6124.
He missed the nearby PN NGC 6153. It was discovered by Ralph Copeland in 1883 from Peru.
Dunlop’s last object that night was a new OC, NGC 6134 at 1:03.

He saw the Gb M62 at 1:27, Charles Messier found it in 1771.
At 2am he discovered the bright, highly concentrated Gb NGC 6388.
He saw the OC M6 at 2:05. It was also found by Giovanni Hodierna in about 1654.
At 2:15 he discovered the Gb NGC 6441 next to mag 3.2 G Sco.

30 July 1826

Dunlop discovered the dark nebula D559 in CrA.
His description reads "A singular dark space in the heavens, of an irregular figure, about 1.5 deg long, and 1.5 deg broad, no stars except exceedingly minute stars in the greatest portion of this space. There is a bright star in each side."
