Welded together 2 frames of RHS for a couple of 44gallon drum wood heaters and took the pick to the drums.

Built and painted a eyepiece rack to attach to the pier in the obs.

Dug the hole to depth for my new jupiter antenna, welded a RIO spite and belted that into the middle of the hole.

Built a swivelling laptop table for the pier, mounted it, padded it and covered it in lovely pearl white vinyl.

Built and mounted a bracket to mount the hand controller to the pier in a very convenient position.

Tested it all out last night with a batch of Eta Carina shots, now on the website.

Slept........

Have to admit I feel like blushing when I read about all the activity and productive stuff that some people did. It was raining here, I was exhausted from work & stuff and so I vegetated with DVDs & sleeping a lot with 2 cats keeping me company. I managed to ignore feelings of guilt....

Rest of the weekend: worked all morning on Saturday (lecturing) and then did some chores until we could watch the final of the Super 14 Rugby. Quite a thrilling end to the match. Did anyone here watch it too?

NO skywatching this weekend at all - it was raining. Good news because we need the rain but it also means we missed the best time of the month for observing. Oh well, you can't have it all..

Thanks Greg, I didn't do my research before visiting - it was a sudden decision. So that's why the highest point is named Flinders Peak - he was there in 1802. It's quite a view from the picnic ground, yet the peak was another 50-70m higher, I estimated.

I spent Sunday Working then playing with my new old tractor- A fergie 35 slashing the bottom paddock.
I then used my new scope to do some imaging with the most stable sky in a long time. Now just to get the time to reduce the raw images.

Slept most of the day trying to get rid if this blasted Migraine!

But the Sunday before that I took the family to Ararat to visit 'J Ward'. It is the old Prison for the Criminally Insane. A real violent nut house!!! Many famous names were inmates there. The gallows are still there in the cell block, where all the prisoners could watch hangings from the comfort of their cell.

We all enjoyed it, and the tour guide was funny.

Then had a lovely relaxing picnic in the park across the road from the old Jail.

I really should add (having read all the above posts) that my Sunday cogitation was not in vain. On Monday - and having discussed my priorities with my good wife - I was [s]directed[/s] advised to paint the newly installed back steps. Sheesh. I'm half way through the first coat.

See you in a week or two. Aaaarggh!

WOW ... I lost track of this thread !
Great to see everyone had such an interesting Sunday.
I have been out sailing again since, we have a midweek sail each Wednesday, which breaks up the week nicely.
