OK thanks Alex - still looks like you were lucky.
On the top towards the right I can see a chip in that glass.


latest -
the Leitz has only dual 7 x eyepieces but are they great -
they have more eye relief than the Eschenbach eyepieces so
I don't have to put my eyeball right on top of the lens to see something.
The Leitz is great even with only one eyepiece able to work
due to the damaged prism.

Well I am lucky..if you look up in an illustrated dictionary under "lucky man" there is sure to be a picture of me.
Yes when I first saw the chip I thought its all over but I cant notice any issues as a result so all good.

Well - you haven't been so lucky lately -
I did read your other thread.
I am sorry to hear all that.

Mine needs a new prism and they are hard to get
and almost impossible to align so that each eye receives an identical picture -
I mean just glue - no adjustment screws ?
However it still works well by just looking through one eyepiece.

It could be worse.

And lucky tonight...great Pizza night and I came away with more than a box of pizza and some pasta..and I have a micro wave..see pretty lucky if you ask me.
