I had a case based on this same galvanized tool box (it came with the scope when I purchased it from shredder - see http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ead.php?t=6967 )

I found that it got hot very quickly if left in the sun for even a short period. Perhaps lining it completely with foam would have helped.
I've been on the lookout for a suitable plastic tool box (I have a Bunnings about 50 metres away) but nothing suitable has appeared as yet.

Thanks Dave looks perfect just what i need, if only i had the skill to make one. I never got mine of the ground still using the cardboard box on the rare occasion i have taken it out. I know also need some thing for my Borg OTA's. I got some plastic toolbox's but they are not all that great.

Hey, i'm on my phone, so please excuse the typing. Fahim, have a look in bunnings for galvanised metal tool boxes. You should be able to pick them up for reasonably cheap. These make excellent OTA boxes.

C11 Schmidt Cassegrain OTA DIY case

I made one out of ply and used the foam which OTA was delivered in.
