Satellite, 'Nettie, good luck.

I looked into it when I got the ADSL (I cannot get cable broadband here) but it was terribly expensive at the time - a good few years ago - and I haven't looked into it since.

Does anyone else use satellite for the Internet? I'd be interested in your comments should you have any. Mind you I'm not all that keen as it seems that one has to subscribe to the television broadcasts as well. As I watch less than an hour of TV per day it hardly seems worth it.

John,
Mr Howard footed the installation costs for us, because he wants us rural folk to have the same services as in the city. Our monthly charges are $29.95, only $5 a month dearer than our dialup. You've got to be happy with that.

That sounds like a pretty good deal, 'Nettie. I don't live in Sydney, not even 'Greater Sydney' as the Nepean river (which used to be the boundary) is a few minutes drive, and 200 metres lower, to the east from my location. Hmm . . .

I'll lay odds that someone has moved the goal posts. Whatever - enjoy your new toy.
