I will definitely buy the shirt with the ships (second one) and an African robe..the robe for family functions if any are too silly to realise by now I dont do funerals (except for Dad and Mum) or weddings and no way ever ever a christening...although with an African robe going to church has gained a new appeal.

I swear I saw a really big guy in Braddon heading into a building near Bent Spoke wearing the first one Alex. Really strong looking guy, very Italian.

Did he have a very tall hat like a chef? Could be the pope.

Anyone we know?

I have not purchased much on the net because I was concerned about various things but recently I set up an account with some pocket money so I can buy stuff I see and like..that was last week..so far I have bought a nice watch and an appealing pocket watch and now trying to decide on one of those bright shirts...but the funny thing is I can not find anything that appeals really...but I do like getting a message from the Post Office saying I have a parcel..it is fun because I dont follow the tracking or what has arrived..I picked up two trail cameras that I can use for security or seeing what animals drink at the dam..There is a couple of knives I like but being the "assisted" opening types I dont know that they would arrive..so just to keep the parcels coming I probably will get the shirt...anyways early days..plus a mate from here, who I wont name, has got me interested in a three wheel electric bike with a carry basket..I dont know where I could ride it but it looks so neat...he got a two wheel small electric dirt bike which I would love but realistically I would fall off sooner or later..he may come forward and post some pictures or not.

Looks like Eddie Murphy’s family in Coming to America 2. A carpet of rose petals.

Alex,

If your going to get around in the African robes, I don't think a side cart on the bike for stability would look weird...

Steve
Ps. I always thought our number plate tag should be "Canberra - Not our politicians... " (well, except for two...)

I hope you dont think that I think any of these things look weird, I personally do not, because frankly I have always seen myself somewhat as the trend setter and I am entirely confident that after a few trips around Lismore on my three wheel bike wearing my African gown you will find many of the locals stopping me to ask where they can buy these things.

However today I awoke feeling a need to explore some Mongolian web sites to see if they offer anything in the way of traditional Mongolian apparel...again if worn in Lismore I think one would be making a profound statement that no one would understand but feel threatened nevertheless...

I find it funny how in most communities a certain dress style is expected..up here you can look at someone and know if they are a "cow cocky" ...same same same down to the little knife pouch on the belt....Another group that I find curious is that of the "bikers"...they preach a philosophy of being free and yet they all wear near identical apparel..I expect if you presented to join a biker group in an African robe they could not see that they witness the total freedom of expression they claim is theirs alone.

Back in my early days I had a suit tailored and made in denim ( worn with a dark brown shirt and flash tie) you should have seen the heads turn when I entered the court room..you just did not do that.
..but it was not long before these started to appear all around Sydney, my influence hardley as similar ideas hit many folk.
I also had a pure white suit with bamboo buttons that got a lot of attention...it was magic in a disco under the "black" lights and strobing.

AND people often see only the clothes. If I put on a sloppy joe, jeans, a cap and dark glasses I could walk around Beecroft un.noticed a place where near every one would know my face just by virtue of the adverts...they expected a three piece suit and without it I did not exist.

But all this is driven by my need to buy something on the net and it is frustrating that I cant find a damn thing that I want..

Looking at this shirt, in fact all in this general category of Hawaiian shirts, and there is a very wide range covering many themes, is the art work. It is really excellent stuff.

I looked at this shirt and thought to do a pencil sketch of just one of the vessels and realised that would take some time, so I then thought about the artist or artists that produce the drawings for all theses shirts... Very talented.

The beard went so they could get at my throat cancer..and the shoulder length hair...JA when you get to my age one, at least this one, has no need of an identity statement...but I may shave my head and get a tattoo of octopus.
