thanks for the welcome to ice in space

i am a very amature astronomy fan, who up to the last few weeks, thought i had seen just about all i would ever be interested in.

and then came McNaught's comet.
from a local lookout i was joined by dozens of people, all entralled by this to us once in a lifetime experience.

three things will remain with me ever, the beauty of the comet, the feeling of being a member of an awstruck community.

and last but not least, prior to McNaught's comets southern apperance, i and my family lost a much loved family pet.
to say that our sprits were uplifted by seeing (mistys space ship) taking her on a wonderfull journey, would be inadequate.

for a time sadness, beauty awe, happiness, fellowship,
were brought meaning fully together by a comet.

that was the beginning my journey, i am sure there will be many more steps.

Congrats Mike and all the others that acually make this place work. I have made many virtual friends here and learnt a lot but really must go the extra step to get to a viewing night to put faces to names.

I appreciate the passion and the hard work of the moderators and owners of this site. I am looking to get into astronomy, buying a telescope, etc and the information I have been able to get off you guys, the experts is really second to none.

Best of all, you guys share information freely and not to mention the quality of the photography and presentations made by posters on this site. It really is a pleasure to sit back and read it, I have definitely fallen into that category, with this being my first post! It's great to be here.

To Mike and the crew, I found your site by accident, but have enjoyed the visits, and reading the knowledgeable comments from far and wide. If nothing else McNaught has bought a great deal of enjoyment to a lot of people in this sometimes troubled world. Keep up the good work
