Steve thanks for sharing your story with us. Needless to say I encourage you to continue and hope this thread may have fanned the fire of your creativity.
As to having a unique idea I am sorry to be the one to tell you but there are very few, all my inventions, and there are a few, I find have been done. That finding has never discouraged me it in fact drives me on as I see such discoveries as affirmation that he idea has merit.. my underwater dam for example had me thinking ..now that is really way out there but it in fact exists in this world much the same a I saw it in my mind. What I call my "trumpet mirror" I find is the same as used in the xray scope in Chile.. I was not put off that I missed the boat but was happy to find the idea was sound. But I had to laugh about a "push pull paddle" when I found it in a 1000 year plus wood print showing it was in use by the Chinese.
Also when one decides to open a new real estate office it is best located alongside the existing offices in the area as you benefit from the promotion they make, customers seeking their door also find yours.
I lent a friend a computer (Osborne 64k the first portable) he learnt word processing and wrote a poetry book and sold it at his hamber shop. I was happy when one day he called and told me he had sold all copies and people were asking when the next would appear.
Read my tag line I feel it holds a message we often overlook.
best wishes ..put me down for a copy of each.

Thanks for your encouragement Alex!
As you say it's all been done before ... still I'll see how I go.
When I was a child I used to have a sketch book in which I "drew" my ideas ... I "invented" the Taser when I was about 9 years old, my mother was enormously impressed years later when they actually started showing & talking about tasers in the media.

My admiration goes to Ken - he's actually been there & done it - wrote it, published it, sold it, and helped people in a real and genuine way by his efforts.

Good on ya Ken, well done! I hope I somehow may come across a copy of your work someday, I would be very interested to read it.
