i don't think there are any places in rocky to buy telescopes from.. as the other guys suggested buy it online.. there's generally only a week wait for it to get delivered.... quicker if they have it in stock

call York Optical in brisbane or buy from telescope.com.au off the net. they will be able to help u out and maybe suggest something else to buy. but as a first timer go the 10" dob.. i got 8 and i'm very happy with it.. best i could afford at the time..

Yeh, I'm 95% set on a 10" Dob. Which, I'm not sure, but I'll keep looking. I'm going to Phil's place sometime soon to check out his scopes, then I'll check out York Optical when i'm in Brisbane next. I think I'll pick up a pair of 15 x 70mm Binoculars first, then when I'm back living in Brisbane in Aug/Sept, I'll FINALLY buy my scope!

Any suggestions on Binoculars?
