I reckon recycled water+tank water would pretty much solve the water shortage in our cities.

I reckon if we collected the water off all of Alex's 'Smilies' we would have enough water for the whole nation!!!

Look at them all!

In the interests of having a chat and not going way off topic let me share the moments before I saw your post Ken .
I was outside playing with my daughter’s water pistol. My my they build them big these days ..I used to stack a “sneaker” and a green automatic but this thing you could fight a bush fire with it ..I watered the garden from the back step. It is ironic here that the grass is high as and water is not an issue and spilling the water on the ground here only takes it back to where it came from the river and the sky. It’s all about sensible storage, not manufacture, the ocean holds a lot of water and that can be used indeed. In Hong Kong they use sea water mixed with other water for various jobs.. paths I guess.
Dams offer local construction companies more work yet attract world experts to our land. Look at the economic benefit that flowed to this country because of the snowy river project…the use of water for irrigation was a mistake however should have run the water to the Sea and added dams along the East side ..whatever. If land needs irrigation in this country who gotta ask why try it here .
But everything is geared for waste so as to sell a product then the over consumption leaves us with consumers trained to want more . That’s why a desalinators reliant system using a finite fuel seems not to address the current problems in a meaningful way . You cant blame folk for seeing opportunity and going for it, geez if I was a desalinator salesman everyone would be onto the newer more efficient model ..this years model the only one most will accept .
MMM back to the water pistol for me .
Alex

Ken I wonder what Peter really thinks about water issues, he would have to go with desalinators because of party lines I guess.
