Yes 10k is a lot of money and it doesn't hurt to ask about these things. I think most of us here a pretty analytical bunch and you're obviously no different. It's part of the fun
My 9.25 Celestron is just 2 years old and still perfect. I've also seen various Vixen OTAs that are many years old and still perfect for their age.

Beautiful set up Brian! Cheers for sharing Carbon fiber is great stuff, super strong, significant weight saving for better mount performance, with the added bonus of looking awesome! Top notch!
