I've come back to it a couple of times so it isn't my mind playing tricks, at first I thought it looked a little like a registration issue in the green channel but a closer look has it looking like the left side of a lot of stars are missing the other channels.
Is this caused by the 50% resolution drop and JPEG compression? Just haven't seen it before.

I redid a lot of this image and paid more attention to extra data rejection on the Ha layer. I also tracked down a source of some star artifacts and got it all corrected. But then I looked at the posted image and could not see those artefact stars you posted. They must be heavily cropped and magnified? There were some minor artifacts though (I think). I have posted the latest repro version that has had more care on data rejection and any star artifacts and it seems pretty free of artifacts at this end. Image looks much the same with some subtle colour difference.

That's good to know. Its hard to judge what is a good amount of colour at times.
