Something personal and "girly" tends to work for me...we (kids and I) usually get her a gift certificate to a day spa...with only males around the house she sometimes does not get much "girl" tiime so a massage, facial, manicure/pedicure etc. usually fixes her up pretty well for a while...
Failing that you could also get her personal "astronomy lessons" so that she could come to love and have passion for the night sky like you...She might learn to enjoy the stars and then want to go with you whenever/whereever you go to do you astronomy thing...just think of all the "together" time you could spend sharing you shared hobby....on second thought go with the spa treatment...

i know how she feels... i am in a house of females. i dont get to do much blokey stuff
Well now we know what to get you for Christmas, Scott.
Although off topic...at a recent company meeting I was introducing the idea of "refreshing, renewing and transforming" our business as we move forward and as a group activity sent the entire sales and marketing team to a day spa for "treatment" to be "renewed"...although most of the folks were male and "rural males" at that, they all seemed to enjoy their spa "experience"...so I say to all of you non-believers and skeptical naysayers...don't knock it until you try it. At least they all had some interesting stories to tell at dinner!
dont worry scott, i quiet like a bit of pampering too
and theres nothing girly about me (dang i just chipped a nail).
guys out there, dont be afraid of a bit of pampering, its a good experience
... oh and so therefore back on topic. buy two vouchers for a dayspa. your wife will enjoy the company and seeing your more feminine side come out too...

Ving is right...get a day spa pass for two and go enjoy the pampering with her for her birthday...relaxation and husband time...what a great idea!
You dont need pressy Houghy, tell her you love her, give her a special day, spoil her by doing as much as possible for her, and let her know that she is special, that is all she will want, heaps better than pressy because you have to.
Then again ... leon may be right , maybe if u tell her that shes so special a present is not needed she could find that sweet ........... then again she probably wont but hey least we'll get a great laugh out of it ...........
