Something personal and "girly" tends to work for me...we (kids and I) usually get her a gift certificate to a day spa...with only males around the house she sometimes does not get much "girl" tiime so a massage, facial, manicure/pedicure etc. usually fixes her up pretty well for a while...

Failing that you could also get her personal "astronomy lessons" so that she could come to love and have passion for the night sky like you...She might learn to enjoy the stars and then want to go with you whenever/whereever you go to do you astronomy thing...just think of all the "together" time you could spend sharing you shared hobby....on second thought go with the spa treatment...

Although off topic...at a recent company meeting I was introducing the idea of "refreshing, renewing and transforming" our business as we move forward and as a group activity sent the entire sales and marketing team to a day spa for "treatment" to be "renewed"...although most of the folks were male and "rural males" at that, they all seemed to enjoy their spa "experience"...so I say to all of you non-believers and skeptical naysayers...don't knock it until you try it. At least they all had some interesting stories to tell at dinner!

I'd gladly accept that kind of present...

You dont need pressy Houghy, tell her you love her, give her a special day, spoil her by doing as much as possible for her, and let her know that she is special, that is all she will want, heaps better than pressy because you have to.

Cheers leon

Hows about a big beautiful philodendrum/rubber plant for the house or verandah. Buy an exotic pot to put it in.
