Wow! really deep there and so many details! The soft-ness of the stars also takes a little away for me [EDIT] just seen the colour version - looks fantastic with a little less softmness and rich colour. Nicely done!

Sorry about the late reply, chaps. Got all involved in the colour version and didn't look.

If it were me, I'd tighten things up a little and you can do that without affecting depth much at all. I had a play and applied some wavelet and star reduction with very good effect.

BTW - seeing is what afflicts my 7424 image - not stretching. I did not do any heavy stretching on that image - ie beyond the norm. The seeing is what killed me.
Thanks Marcus. Good advice. We've tried to make the colour version a little more crunchy. Since then, disaster has struck at Placidus, - both computer and dome roof issues, so we're going to be watching a lot of movies.

If it were possible, I wonder how close this would be to the eyepiece view through say one of the 8m scopes on Cerro Pachon

Cheers, Mike. As mentioned, we're down to using binoculars ourselves at the moment.

Hi, Andy. Glad you find the colour version a bit crisper.

Best,
Mike and Trish.
