I've been kind of referring to my new 12" dob as Dob 2.0 (pronounced "two point zero") but I must admit that "StarCannon" has kind of wandered through my mind as well .......
For the record Ving I have a black and white staffie cross - her coat is patterned very much like a Fresian cow - and her name is simply "Moo"
(No, I didn't name her, but it kind of suits her - she's very gentle, feminine, and placid)
I call my meade "Bluey" ........ I know Very original...........
Trouble is, I call my Dog Bluey as well !!
The wife keeps thinking I am standing in the dark talking to my telescope

Steve! Nice touch the Engel beside the telly mate. I hope it's always full.
If I could subtantiate the claim I'd call mine Cloudburner. Unfortunately I cannot. Damn shame that. I have though thought of calling it Rainmaker but that too is still unproven. So, unfortunately (for the time being at any rate), it's called Teaser.
I call my ultra-portable 8" f/4 truss dob Little Hubble. I had no inclination to name any of my other 3 scopes, but then I'm not the father.
PS. You cannot have Little Hubble! ie, the name. But you could start taking photos in IR and call Little Spitzer... does not quite have the same ring though...
